Professor Vogel erhielt erstmals vergebenen Woodward-Award
Professor Dr. Dr. h.c. Emanuel Vogel, emeritierter Direktor des Instituts für Organische Chemie der Universität zu Köln, ist während der 1. International Conference on Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines in Dijon, Frankreich, mit dem erstmals vergebenen Robert B. Woodward Award ausgezeichnet worden. Mit dieser Auszeichnung wurden Professor Vogels grundlegende Forschungen über Porphyrin-Analoga, Farbstoffe mit potentiellen Anwendungen in der photodynamischen Therapie von Tumoren und dermatologischen Erkrankungen, gewürdigt.
