Amalgam wird immer noch als Füllmaterial im zahnmedizinischen Alltag eingesetzt. Aber die Situation auf dem Dentalmarkt ist in Bewegung. So konnte eine Produktlinie Admira aus dem Hause VOCO innerhalb von zwei Jahren in die Top Ten der gefragtesten Füllungsmaterialien vordringen. Admira geht auf eine gemeinsame Entwicklung von VOCO GmbH und des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Silicatforschung in Würzburg zurück.
Nun wird weiter geforscht, um weitere hochleistungsfähige bioverträgliche Werkstoffe für die Oralmedizin zur Marktreife zu bringen.
