In der Woche vom 19. bis 22. März trifft sich – unter Schirmherrschaft der Ministerin für Wissenschaft, Forschung und Kultur des Landes Brandenburg, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dr. Sabine Kunst – die europäische Informationswissenschaft in Potsdam. Begrüßt werden die ca. 300 Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer aus deutschsprachigen und benachbarten Ländern durch den Oberbürgermeister der Landeshauptstadt Potsdam, Jann Jakobs, am 20. März 2013 im Hauptgebäude der Fachhochschule Potsdam. Das alle zwei Jahre stattfindende Symposium des Hochschulverbandes Informationswissenschaft kooperiert in diesem Jahr mit zwei internationalen Verbänden, der Association of Information Science & Technology (ASIS&T) und der International Society for Knowledge Organization (ISKO).
