The Constitutional Right to Live, and the Political Power to Let Die
Ulrike Kistner arbeitet in Johannesburg als Forscherin im Rahmen eines Projekts, das sich mit den Zusammenhängen zwischen Gewalt gegen Frauen und HIV/AIDS befasst. Ihre Lehrtätigkeit an der Witwatersrand-Universität in Johannesburg begann mit der Vergleichenden Literaturwissenschaft und umfasste später auch Gender Studies, Kulturwissenschaft und Medientheorie. Sie hat zahlreiche Artikel zur Narratologie innerhalb der Kulturwissenschaften und zu Aspekten der Medizingeschichte veröffentlicht. Ein Buch über Menschenrechte in Südafrika wird in diesem Jahr erscheinen (Commissioning and Contesting Post-Apartheid's Human Rights. HIV/AIDS - Racism - Truth and Reconciliation.
