Concerts, shows, sporting events: What conditions need to be in place before arena events with an audience can take place again? What are the challenges facing the organizers of these concert and sporting events? And what requirements must each individual meet in order to attend such events? Vast amounts of data were collected in August during an experiment held in the Quarterback Immobilien Arena in Leipzig as part of the research project RESTART-19.
“Thanks to the active participation and enormous support of the participants, we have now been able to develop a mathematical model that shows which measures should be implemented at major events to minimize the risk of infection with Covid-19,” explains Dr. Stefan Moritz, study leader of the RESTART-19 project at University Medicine Halle (Saale).
