HHL featured in "The Best 301 Business Schools: 2010 Edition" by The Princeton Review

HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management is an outstanding business school, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company features the school in the just-published 2010 edition of its "Best 301 Business Schools" (Random House / Princeton Review, Oct. 6, 2009, $22.99)

For this book, the editors collected the opinions of more than 19,000 students at the best AACSB-accredited MBA programs in the world and gathered statistical information on many more MBA programs in order to give readers the widest possible base of information for selecting the right business school for them.

According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review VP-Publishing, "We are pleased to recommend HHL to readers of our book and users of our website as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA."

"Best 301 Business Schools" has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity and career placement services. In the profile on HHL, the Princeton Review editors say that the school "offers German and international business students an appealing mix of a well-established name and modern innovation." They quote from students attending it who say "One of the big strengths of this program is its excellent contact to companies. Almost all top companies in consulting, banking, and industry come for presentation and recruiting. Companies react surprisingly positively when saying that you are from HHL."

In a "Survey Says. . ." sidebar in the profile, The Princeton Review lists topics that HHL students surveyed for the book were in most agreement about. The list includes: "friendly students", and "Solid preparation in: Finance, Accounting, General Management". The Princeton Review's 80-question survey asked students about themselves, their career plans, and their schools' academics, student body and campus life.

The Princeton Review does not rank the schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 301, or name one business school best overall. Instead, the book has 11 ranking lists of the top 10 business schools in various categories. Ten lists are based on The Princeton Review's surveys of 19,000 students attending the 301 business schools profiled in the book. (Only schools that permitted The Princeton Review to survey their students were eligible for consideration for these lists). Conducted during the 2008-09, 2007-08, and 2006-07 academic years, the student surveys were primarily completed online. One list, "Toughest to Get Into," is based solely on institutional data. (All schools in the book were eligible for consideration for this list.) The lists are posted at www.PrincetonReview.com.

HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management

HHL - Leipzig Graduate School of Management was founded in 1898 as Germany's first business school. It was re-established in 1992 as a private, state-approved institution with university status, i.e. it may grant doctoral and post-doctoral degrees. Today, it is considered one of the leading business schools. In addition to its international focus, the synthesis of theory and practice at HHL is central. Furthermore, HHL has set itself the goal of educating effective and responsible business leaders through its "Integrated Management" approach. HHL offers an 18-month Master Program in Management leading to the degree Master of Science (M.Sc). In addition, HHL has an 18-month full-time (24-month part-time) Master Program in General Management (MBA) for professionals. A three-year doctoral program, which can also be completed by professionals with the appropriate qualifications, tops off HHL's portfolio of degree programs. HHL's subsidiary HHL Executive GmbH offers company-specific and open enrollment executive education. In April 2004, HHL received the highly-respected accreditation by AACSB International. The accreditation was re-awarded for a further five years in April 2009. Further information: www.hhl.de
