In der 44. Sitzung der Akademischen Versammlung (AV) wurde am heutigen 13. September 2021 der Erste Vizepräsident der Beuth Hochschule für Technik Berlin gewählt. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Kesseler stand als einziger Kandidat für das Amt zur Verfügung. Er wurde mit 26 Stimmen der 44 anwesenden Mitglieder gewählt.
Der frisch gewählte Erste Vizepräsident Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Kesseler ist Ingenieur der Elektrotechnik, er lehrt Automatisierungs- und Regelungstechnik am Fachbereich VI – Informatik und Medien. Diesem Fachbereich steht er auch, nach zweimaliger Wiederwahl, seit 2016 bis zu seinem Wechsel ins Präsidium als Dekan vor. Wolfgang Kesseler bekleidete vor seinem Ruf an die Beuth Hochschule leitende Positionen in der Automobil-, Bahn- und Medizintechnikbranche.
Nach dem Rücktritt des bisherigen Amtsinhabers Prof. Kai Kummert war eine Neuwahl notwendig. Die Amtszeit des aktuellen Präsidiums läuft noch bis zum 30. September 2023.
Die Sitzung der Akademischen Versammlung war öffentlich. Bedingt durch die COVID-19-Pandemie fand die Versammlung online als Videokonferenz mit Zoom statt.
Zum Start in das neue Semester am 1. Oktober 2021 wird die Beuth Hochschule umbenannt in Berliner Hochschule für Technik (BHT).
