Journalists are also warmly welcomed to attend the conference on the first day, 16.01.2020, from 12.30 pm. Please register by e-mail to presse@gewebenetzwerk.de.
On this first day you will have the opportunity to talk to national and international experts from the fields of tissue donation, eye banking and corneal transplantation. We would also be happy to organize a meeting with experts such as Prof. Dr. mult. Eckhard Nagel (former member of the German Ethics Council, transplantation physician) on the topic of ethics in tissue medicine and the current debate on organ and tissue donation. Take the opportunity to see the preparation of a corneal lamella or the analysis of a donor cornea with the slit lamp with your own eyes. At EEBA there are eight exciting workshops (even for unusual images) that you are welcome to attend. An overview of the workshops can be found in the programme.
For the first time the EEBA and DGFG are organizing a photo and art contest and will exhibit the submitted artworks at the Welcome Reception. This "panorama" theme, which is rich in images, offers guests an insight into the world of corneal donation, preparation and transplantation and is intended to raise public awareness of the topic of "seeing" beyond the event itself. Both laymen and experts from tissue banks and member organisations of the EEBA have creatively dedicated themselves to this topic and support with their art the awareness of tissue donation and transplantation.
If you are unable to attend the EEBA, but are still interested in the EEBA and the topic of "Preventing blindness through corneal donation and transplantation", we will be happy to provide you with information and image material and can also arrange interviews afterwards.
