5th Central and Eastern European Forum of Young Legal, Political and Social Theorists

The Central and Eastern European Forum of Young Legal, Political and Social Theorists (CEE Forum) is a platform for young legal, political and social theorists who come from, currently study or work in Central and Eastern Europe or have a research interest in the region. The regional boundaries are understood widely. The target audiences of the conference are young researchers, especially doctoral students and post-docs, without a specific age limit.

The 5th annual conference of the CEE Forum will put its special emphasis on two major general topics: In the first section Separation of Powers & Constitutional Review we are going to discuss two core elements of modern constitutional democracies, which are of enduring timeliness in legal and political theory. The second section Constitutional Rights & Obligations is going to address basic rights and freedoms for individuals and/or groups as well as constitutional obligations that are much rarer in the constitutional landscape. The third Open Section is open to a variety of interesting topics from the vast area of legal, political and social theory in order to meet the diverse interests of he Forum’s participants from different disciplines. The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Dr. André Brodocz (University of Erfurt, Germany) on the topic: A General Theory of Judicial Power.
