Exhibition stand in hall 3.1, A23 - Four specialist lectures at the accompanying symposia
BÖNNIGHEIM (hm) - The Avantex and Techtextil trade fairs will be held in parallel for the first time between 7 - 9 June 2005 in Frankfurt. Specialists from the Hohenstein Institutes' Research Centre will be available to talk at length to interested visitors in hall 3.1, stand A23, and will be represented at the accompanying specialist symposia with two lectures at each event.
At the institutes' own Avantex exhibition stand, experts from various disciplines will provide detailed information on current research activities and the extremely diverse range of services offered by the Hohenstein Institutes. There will also be an opportunity to handle high-tech textiles with innovative product properties with several exhibits such as a denim jacket with integrated solar cells to power small mobile devices or an ECG-shirt to permanently monitor the heart function of patients. An outdoor jacket with a new type of spacer knit for thermal insulation and other garments for children and adults whose functional properties have been tested in the Hohenstein laboratory will also be on display. Exhibits include antimicrobial underwear with silver fibres for patients suffering with neurodermatitis, a cleanroom overall with high breathability and children's clothing which has been tested for harmful substances and optimised in terms of UV-protection.
As part of the Avantex symposium, scientists from Hohenstein will be talking about current research projects to develop a self-sufficient power supply for intelligent clothing and the opportunities and restraints for the use of biofunctional textiles in diagnosis and treatment. The lectures at the Techtextil specialist symposium will present the Hohenstein test procedures for the physiological optimisation of the comfort of vehicle seats and provide an overview of the laboratory tests currently available which can be used to objectively evaluate the effectiveness and safety of textiles with antimicrobial finishes.
