The European School of Management and Technology (esmt), the international management school, founded by German industry in October 2002, is to host another information weekend on 8-9 July 2005 for candidates interested in enrolling in the School's MBA program.

The European School of Management and Technology (esmt), the international management school, founded by German industry in October 2002, is to host an information weekend on 8-9 July 2005 for candidates interested in enrolling in the School's MBA program.
Over the weekend, which will take place at esmt's flagship campus in Berlin, candidates will learn about the School and its MBA program, take part in case studies and meet faculty. This will be the second such weekend.

esmt will hold a further information event in London on 14 July 2005, and others will follow in August in Munich, Warsaw, Moscow, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangalore, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, and Mexico City. Those wishing to attend these events can register online at http://www.esmt.org/mba.

esmt was founded on the initiative of 25 of Germany's most prominent enterprises and is the country's leading provider of management education courses for companies. The School, which also has campuses in Munich and Cologne, is unique for its close collaboration with the Hertie School of Governance, enabling students to explore the increasingly important interface of the public and private sectors. The school announced its MBA in April and the first class will start in January 2006.

The MBA program, which will be taught in English and lasts one year, places considerable emphasis on practice as well as management theory and concepts, and is divided into two phases. In the first seven months, students learn essential management principles and competences. During the second, five-month phase, students focus on special options, with a strong underlying emphasis on leadership.

The course includes two project periods, one in each phase, during which students get first hand experience of real management challenges, in many cases with a founder company.

25 scholarships, named after founder firms, are available to students who meet the academic and personal entry criteria. The minimum value of a scholarship is Euros 20,000, rising to a maximum of Euros 50,000, depending on financial need, which is the full value of the MBA fees. The School also has access to a loan program organized by leading banks, which allows all admitted participants to manage the financial investments involved in living expenses as well as tuition.

The MBA program builds on esmt's experience in management education, and particularly on the experience accumulated in the rapidly growing company-specific program activity. Closeness to practice, and engagement with esmt founder companies is a hallmark of the esmt MBA program.

More details about esmt, the information weekend, registration, the MBA and scholarships and financial assistance are on the School's web site, http://www.esmt.org. Applications for the MBA can be made online.
