Prof. Dr. Mitja Krajncan received his Visiting Professorship from Baltic College - entitled "Empirical Methodology and Experiential Education". Vicepresident Prof. Dr. Torsten Fischer (Baltic College) and Vicedean Prof. Dr. Tatjana Hodnik-Cadež (Faculty of Education / University of Ljubljana) presented the official document in Ljubljana (Photo). A wide-range of cooperation include development of Erasmus-Programs. The common work focuses on "youth at risk" as well as integrating experiential segments within existing research programs.
Professor Dr. Mitja Krajncan studied Social Education in Ljubljana. He finished his Diploma in Social Education with relation to "residential care". At the universities of Lüneburg, Klagenfurt, Zagreb, Triest and Novi Sad he was invited as Lecturer of experiential and adventure education. He collaborated in the organization of the first Specialisation Course of Leisure Studies and Residential Care. Since 1998 he is Assistant Professor of Methodology and Didactic for Social Paedagogics at Faculty of Education of the University of Ljubljana. Since 2006 he has been Head of the Department of Social Education at University. He founded the first "Association for Experiential Education" in Slovenia that focuses on implementation experiental methods in school educating and social work. The main investigations and publications lines are: experiential orientated education - residential care and social alternatives - concepts of institutional innovations - empirical methods of social education.
