At its last meeting in November, 2009, the curatorship of the Laser Zentrum Hannover e.V. (LZH) appointed four new members: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Hasselbach, president of the TU Braunschweig, Prof. Dr. Thomas Hanschke, president of the TU Clausthal, Dr.-Ing. Volker Kaese, head of the group and trademarks laboratory of the Volkswagen AG, and Dr.-Ing. Frank Korte, CEO of the Micreon GmbH.
The appointment of the presidents of the TU Braunschweig and the TU Clausthal to the curatorship is a direct consequence of the LZH signing cooperation agreements with the two universities in October, 2009. Together with the Leibniz Universität Hannover, all three university presidents, who are also integrated in the Lower Saxony Technical University (NTH), are now serving in the curatorship of the non-university Laser Zentrum Hannover.
Dr.-Ing. Kaese of Volkswagen and Dr.-Ing. Korte of Micreon have also strengthened the curatorship, being well-known personalities from the automobile industry and medium-sized industries of Lower Saxony.
All new members of the curatorship will help guarantee that the LZH, as an independent research institute in Lower Saxony, will not only be integrated in the university sector, but will also receive support from both large and small and medium sized firms in the industrial sector.
