In order to push foward this unique collaborative exchange of scientific findings without obstacles like time and space, the meeting’s organizers announced a cooperation with the scientific online network ResearchGATE.

650 budding scientists along with 59 Nobel Laureates are coming together on the 27th June to the 2nd July 2010 to participate in the 60th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. In order to push foward this unique collaborative exchange of scientific findings without obstacles like time and space, the meeting’s organizers announced a cooperation with the scientific online network ResearchGATE.

As soon as the Lindau Meeting 2010 kicks off, so too will the Lindau Nobel Community on ResearchGATE - enabling participants to capture the inspirational atmosphere as well as to keep in touch with individual contacts even after the Nobel Laureate Meeting is over. “The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will improve the communication among scientists via the new virtual community” said the Countess Bettina Bernadotte, President of the Council for the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. “The online community has the potential to initiate fresh international collaboration and become a hub for future scientific discoveries” added Professor Wolfgang Schürer, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board. Members attending the 2010 meeting as well as the alumni from previous years are invited to join the community, where they are not only able to connect with one another, but can also share their research with over 400,000 further scientists: the Lindau-Nobel Community is embedded directly into the global ResearchGATE network.

“Both ResearchGATE and the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are striving towards the same goal - enabling young scientists from every corner of the globe to connect and collaborate”, said Dr. Ijad Madisch, Co-founder and CEO of ResearchGATE, “we are very excited about this new cooperation as it will support the shared aim significantly”. Participants will now be able to create their own profiles within the Lindau Nobel Community on ResearchGATE. They are then able to benefit from a wide range of applications designed specifically to meet the researchers` needs. Thousands of groups provide a platform for users to discuss the latest scientific discoveries and difficulties within labs worldwide, whilst a unique internal search engine makes it easy for users to identify relevant literature as well as potential co-authors.
