From spring 2016 and as part of its Bachelor's degree programme, EBS Business School will be offering the first digital skills elective course with ECTS credits. The online course "Startup Skills 101", which will be supervised by mentors from CareerFoundy, equips students with a basic understanding of web design, website programming and Google Analytics. The new course will be open to full-time students and to part-time Bachelor's students starting their studies at the end of August 2015.
"In consulting firms and financial services technical know-how is very much in demand. Furthermore, many of our students are engaged in their own startups or join the family business after finishing their studies and, in addition to excellent business and marketing competence, need to understand how to best design their online presence. The elective "Startup Skills 101" will equip students with the skills needed to professionally create a website", said Petra Weiler, Associate Dean Undergraduate Programmes at EBS Business School. "With its extensive experience in delivering online programmes for web development CareerFoundry is the ideal partner for the implementation of this innovative concept, which is why we are delighted with this cooperation." The course is open to sixth semester students and consists of 12 practical learning units as well as six one-to-one mentoring sessions to answer questions and provide support in implementing projects.
Raffaela Rein, founder and CEO of CareerFoundry: "At CareerFoundry we specialize in supporting people from all around the world to realize their career potential. With its demanding programmes EBS Business School educates tomorrow's leaders and we are proud to add important digital skills to their repertoire of competencies."
