The graduates' association EBS Alumni e.V. will become a shareholder of EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, thus further improving EBS financial situation.
With a substantial share EBS Alumni Association will become a new shareholder of EBS Universität. "The participation of our former students is a sign of their close ties with EBS, the oldest private university in Germany", said Professor Dr Klaus Evard, founder of the institution that has been in existence since 1971. Sven Kleinknecht, President of EBS Alumni Association, added: "Through more intensive cooperation we are very pleased to contribute to the further strengthening of EBS."
The participation of the alumni organization marks an important milestone in the university's financing concept and in the expansion of the excellent teaching and research activities that have been a distinctive feature of EBS for several decades. And this closer cooperation will bring tangible benefits in other areas too: "The participation of our alumni in the University will also strengthen our outstanding contacts to the corporate world – an established and continually expanding network that future generations of students will also be able to build on", commented Professor Dr Barbara Dauner-Lieb, Chairman of the Foundation for the Advancement of EBS.
The Dietmar Hopp Foundation will also be providing further funding and will support the university as part of a donation challenge: "EBS is carrying out excellent work in teaching and research. Every single donation is a contribution towards ensuring that today and in the future the University will be among the top-ranked universities in Germany and worldwide. And this is the reason why my Foundation will double alumni donations up to the maximum amount of two million euros", said Dietmar Hopp, the Foundation's founder.
