ESMT Berlin supports leadership development in cooperation with InterAcademy Partnership for Health

Ulrike Schwarzberg Corporate Communications and Marketing
European School of Management and Technology (ESMT)

As part of the Young Physician Leaders program (YPL), ESMT Berlin is offering a leadership course for young leaders from global health with outstanding potential. In conjunction with the World Health Summit (WHS), the seminar will be held on October 6 - 11, 2016 in Berlin. The tuition fee is €5,000, and the application deadline is August 31st, 2016.

The YPL sessions at ESMT Berlin begin with Dr. Nora Grasselli, ESMT Program Director, welcoming the participants and visiting health research laboratories and start-up companies in the Berlin area. On the second and third day, Dr. Nora Grasselli together with Dr. Jo Ivey Boufford, MD, President of the New York Academy of Medicine, will work with the participants on their roles, styles, and approaches as leaders. In addition, they will explore the topics of cooperation and teamwork – one of the key issues to master as a leader in global health. Subsequent to the workshop, participants actively participate in the World Health Summit, the world’s most prominent forum bringing together key leaders from academia, politics, civil society, and the private sector, preparing and delivering a workshop during the conference.

The YPL program was founded in 2011 in partnership with the WHS and the M8 Alliance of Academic Health Centres and Medical Universities. The program aims to foster a new generation of leaders in global health, while encouraging the exchange between medical executives across the globe and promoting the growth of leadership competencies. The participants of this program are young physicians, researchers, managers from the pharmaceutical and medical devices field, health NGOs, and health policy makers under the age of 40. In 2016, the YPL program will take place for the sixth time with ESMT Berlin supporting it for the first time.
