Frankfurt/Main, 19 July 2016 – The Executive Board of the Research Association for Combustion Engines (FVV) eV has appointed two new Deputy Managing Directors who will support the longtime CEO Dietmar Goericke in the future development of this globally unique network for engines and turbomachinery research.
Matthias Zelinger heads the turbomachinery research of the FVV
Matthias Zelinger, 48, became Managing Director of the Power Systems Association and Energy Spokesman of the VDMA on 1 March 2015. He took up both positions from Thorsten Herdan, former member of the FVV management, after his move to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. On 1 January 2016 Mr Zelinger was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the Research Association and is responsible for directing the turbomachinery research within the FVV.
Matthias Zelinger was born in 1968, is married and has two children. He studied at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW, the former Berufsakademie Mannheim) and holds a diploma in mechanical engineering. Mr Zelinger started his business career at VDMA in 2002 and has since then held various managerial positions in the areas of thermal turbines and power plants, energy policy and political communication.
Martin Nitsche assumes senior management position within the FVV
Martin Nitsche, 45, was appointed Deputy Managing Director of the Research Association on 20 May 2016. The graduate engineer joined the FVV on 1 October 2015 as Project Manager for pre-competitive industrial collective research projects within the engine research department. Mr Nitsche previously worked as a Development Engineer and Project Manager in the automotive industry and then as a Technical Manager in the VDMA Engines and Systems Association in the fields of industrial engines. In his new additional role, Martin Nitsche is responsible for organisation and strategic development of the FVV.
Martin Nitsche was born in 1970, is married and studied mechanical engineering at the RheinMain University of Applied Sciences (formerly FH Wiesbaden). He brings excellent skills and thorough knowledge in the field of standardisation and technical regulation, policy advocacy, product development and process optimisation to his new position.
”Combustion engines will continue to play an important role in mobility and energy supply far into the future,” states Dietmar Goericke, longtime CEO of the FVV. “I am therefore very pleased to address the challenges we are currently facing in the pre-competitive research into engines and turbomachinery, together with these two experienced new members of my management team”.
