Kerstin Hennig new Head of the EBS Real Estate Management Institute (REMI)

    EBS University appoints specialist Honorary Professor of Real Estate Management

    The EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht has appointed Dr. Kerstin Hennig as Head of the Real Estate Management Institute (REMI) and Honorary Professor of Real Estate Management as of 1 April 2018. Prof. Dr. Kerstin Hennig is responsible for the further expansion, marketing and positioning of EBS REMI and for developing the EBS University growth strategy in the real estate field. In addition, she will forge links between academia and business in the Institute's teaching and research.

    Kerstin Hennig has more than 25 years of practical experience in the real estate business and also in the real estate education and training sector. As Honorary Professor of Real Estate Management, Prof. Dr. Kerstin Hennig will teach and conduct research at EBS in the field of Real Estate Management, with special focuses on Real Estate Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Real Estate Major Future Trends. "We would like to congratulate Kerstin Hennig on her appointment. We are proud to have enlisted the services of an acknowledged real estate expert for EBS REMI," said Prof. Dr. Markus Ogorek, President of the University, who presented the certificate of appointment.

    Her responsibilities as Head of the EBS Real Estate Management Institute include the accelerated expansion of the postgraduate education and consulting areas. "Kerstin Hennig will not only assume the Real Estate Management chair, but will also implement our growth strategy in the real estate sector together with the EBS REMI management," explained Prof. Dr. Julia Sander, Chancellor and Managing Director of the EBS University.

    Back in the mid-1990s, Kerstin Hennig was one of the first individuals in Germany to complete a doctorate in the specialised field of real estate management. After moving to the private sector, she kept in touch with the academic world by giving regular lectures at various universities and institutes. Her areas of expertise include real estate marketing and communication as well as transactions and business development. Innovation and future trends have always played a central role for her. Previous steps in her career included debis Immobilienmanagement, Tishman Speyer Properties, UBS AG, IVG Immobilien AG and Groß & Partner. Among the projects for which she carried responsibility as manager or managing director are Gateway Gardens (one of the largest real estate project developments in Germany), the debis development at Potsdamer Platz, the Opernturm in Frankfurt and The Squaire at Frankfurt Airport (the world's longest office building at 660 metres).
