Construction projects are becoming increasingly complex: Numerous participants must be coordinated, expensive delays must be avoided, potential stumbling blocks must be identified early on, legal issues must be clarified and contracts must be designed transparently.
Accordingly, management personnel in the construction industry must have expertise in construction law, economics and technology in addition to classic management skills. The Professional School at Leuphana University Lüneburg has been offering the part-time Master's programme in Construction Law and Construction Management as a qualification for applicants from the construction industry for 10 years. A new study year will start in October 2022. Applications are still possible until 31 July. There are various counselling options for those interested.
Students can earn a Master's degree in four semesters with 60 credit points; in-depth studies over two additional semesters (additional 30 credit points) are also possible. The programme aims to qualify students for management responsibility in the construction industry in the overlapping area of law, economics and technology. The main study contents include supplementary and contract management, costing, commercial law, construction law, construction project management and construction process disruptions. Architectural/engineering law, public procurement law, conflict management and negotiation skills are also on the programme.
