The new consecutive Master program “Production Engineering MEng” is starting at the Augsburg University of Applied Sciences in the summer semester of 2023. Interested candidates can apply for the first time until 15 December 2022. This program, offered by the Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering, will be introduced full-time or part-time. The Production Master program is designed primarily with virtual components: About one third face-to-face teaching is combined with two thirds online teaching.
The aim of the study program is to qualify graduates for prominent positions in the development and planning of production systems and for factory operation. It covers issues relevant to production and takes account of digitalization in mechanical engineering with practice-oriented simulation modules. Special consideration is given to the three areas of production level, production management level and company management level.
Interdisciplinary approach
Subject advisor Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Braunreuther explains: “In the Production Engineering Master program, methodical skills and competences are compounded. Independent work and interdisciplinary thinking are encouraged. In addition to the technical and academic further qualification of our students, we place a great deal of emphasis on business and organizational expertise, teamwork, and employee management.”
The application process for the Production Master program will take place twice per year: from 15 November to 15 December for the summer semester and from 2 May to 15 June for the summer semester. Applicants must have completed a degree program related to mechanical engineering with at least 210 ECTS points and a final grade of 2.5 or better. The usual period of study is three semesters for full-time study and a maximum of six semesters for part-time study.
