Until 31 July scientists, research institutions, universities, NGOs and art projects or artists with emphasis on science can submit their topics for Berlin Science Week 2023 . The final programme will be published on 28 September. The festival will take place between 1 and 10 November 2023 in Berlin and online. Part of the festival programme with a focus on Art & Science will take place for the first time at the Holzmarkt 25 cultural centre.
On 3 and 4 November under the motto "Dare to know: our narratives, our futures", the festival centre CAMPUS invites visitors to the Museum für Naturkunde. The press conference to kick off Berlin Science Week 2023 will take place in mid-October.

The 8th Berlin Science Week kicks off the new year with a call to all researchers and scientific organisations to participate in this year's festival. The programme categories range from Planetary and Human Health and Societal Trends and Transformations to Open Science and Tech and Engineering. In June and July, the Berlin Science Week team will offer participating organisations a free workshop series focusing on Event Management, Science Communication and Art & Science.

“Berlin Science Week makes the latest in science accessible to all and creates space for open exchange and dialogue. Because the important thing is not what we already know, but what we collectively do with it together." – says the Festival Director Luiza Bengtsson.

The cultural hotspot Holzmarkt 25 joins as a festival partner this year. For Science Week 2023, the iconic capital city location will transform into the Art & Science Forum with the theme "Dare to know: creative science, precise art". Its programme will include art interventions, multimedia exhibitions, film nights and innovative scicom formats that explore the dichotomy of art and science.

As Juval Dieziger, Managing Director of Holzmarkt, summarizes, „We are proud to work with the Falling Walls Foundation to create science communication spaces that encourage active engagement and enable experimental formats. One of the guiding principles of our urban development approach is to bring together people from diverse backgrounds to try new things together. Especially the connection of creativity and science across traditional boundaries, therefore, suits unconventional places like the Holzmarkt.”

Under this year's motto "Dare to know: our narratives, our futures", the CAMPUS festival centre at the Museum für Naturkunde opens its doors on 3 and 4 November. This year the CAMPUS programme focuses on visions of the future and how they can be shaped as fact-based, inclusive, and sustainable.

"We want to celebrate science together, get our visitors excited about nature and research, get into conversation and shape the future together. That's why we've been delighted to have the Berlin Science Week as a partner and the Campus at the Berlin Museum für Naturkunde for many years now!", says Johannes Vogel, Director General of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin.
