This year's Fulda International Autumn School will take place at Fulda University of Applied Sciences from 26 to 29 November 2024. The focus will be on the diversity of qualitative social research.
Renowned scholars from the associated fields, postgraduates, and students from around the globe will discuss fundamental epistemological issues and contemporary methodological debates in qualitative social research in a creative and supportive environment. In a changing world, qualitative social research offers deep insights into human behaviour, attitudes and interactions that often cannot be captured using quantitative methods.
Perspectives and topics:
- Quality criteria and ethics
- Various research methods
- Positionality and Safety in the field
- Decolonial and feminist perspectives
The Autumn School is aimed at anyone currently conducting qualitative research or planning to do so in the future. The program provides a space for the exchange and discussion of experiences, questions and data and is intended to contribute to advancing one's own research and networking with others.
In addition to various group sessions and keynote speeches, four parallel methodological workshops will therefore be offered over the three days, in which participants can explore their own planned or ongoing projects in greater depth. There is also the opportunity to bring along research ideas, exposés, research designs or data to be discussed and further developed.
Participation is free of charge.
