Applications are now open for the Digital GreenTalents – High Potentials in Sustainable Development Award 2025, an initiative by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Early-career researchers from across the globe who are exploring the potential of digital solutions to advance sustainability are encouraged to apply by 6 June 2025.
Berlin, 8 May 2025 – In light of climate change and the urgent need for new approaches, the award seeks to spotlight promising scientific contributions that combine digital innovation with sustainable development.
Each year, the programme selects 20 outstanding young researchers whose work demonstrates a strong interdisciplinary approach at the crossroads of digitalisation and sustainability. The award aims to foster international dialogue and collaboration by connecting emerging talent with leading institutions and experts in Germany’s Digital GreenTech community.
Winners of the Digital GreenTalents Award will benefit from:
• A fully funded three-month research stay in Germany in 2026
• Participation in the Digital GreenTalents SpringSchool
• Tailored mentoring by experts in the GreenTech field
• Membership in a growing international network of former awardees

Digital GreenTalents Award is implemented by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and the German Informatics Society, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). The application deadline is 6th of June 2025, 2:00 p.m. CEST.
