E-world 2026: Fraunhofer SCAI presents algorithms that make the energy transition pay off

Dipl.-Journalist (TU Dortmund) Michael Krapp Marketing und Kommunikation
Fraunhofer-Institut für Algorithmen und Wissenschaftliches Rechnen SCAI

Fraunhofer SCAI will showcase current research and deployment-ready software solutions at E-world energy & water in Essen from February 10 to 12, 2026.

Sankt Augustin – How can heterogeneous energy portfolios be optimized based on economic criteria, and how can energy networks be planned efficiently? Fraunhofer SCAI will showcase current research and deployment-ready software solutions at E-world energy & water in Essen from February 10 to 12, 2026. These solutions support key tasks across the energy industry in practical applications.

    • EAO – Energy Asset Optimization: Software for optimizing diverse energy portfolios. EAO models assets like wind, solar, batteries, gas, industry, and thermal storage for valuation, dispatch, and control. Goal: reduce risk and boost returns.
    • MYNTS: A software solution for simulating and planning energy networks. MYNTS supports infrastructure planning for gas, electricity, hydrogen, and CO2. It also covers physical sector coupling and analyses of resilience, flexibility, and costs. These results provide a sound basis for investment and operational decisions.
    • Search for new materials for energy storage: Algorithmic methods that speed up the search for alternative storage materials and help reduce reliance on critical raw materials.
    • Digital Battery Passport: Work on data-driven transparency and traceability across the battery life cycle. This creates a basis for more efficient processes, faster decisions, and robust sustainability assessment.

Fraunhofer SCAI develops tailored algorithms and software to meet the growing requirements of the energy industry. The portfolio includes optimization, fast numerical solvers, simulation methods, and artificial intelligence.

Services for customers and partners in the energy industry
    • Research and development projects in cooperation with industry and the public sector
    • Studies and expert reports that support decisions for policymakers, companies, and associations
    • Practice-ready software solutions and algorithms for operational use

    Booth at E-world: Hall 4, Booth 4F115
