News for tourism experts. Effective immediately, Prof. Dr. Katerina Volcheck from the European Campus Rottal-Inn (ECRI) at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) will serve as associate editor of the “Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology” (JHTT). This was announced by the academic journal, headquartered in Leeds, England.
With an interdisciplinary focus, the established journal has been dedicated to research in the fields of technology, e-business, and innovation in tourism and hospitality for over 15 years. As an internationally recognized forum, the JHTT tracks the latest developments in the service sector and bridges the gap between academia and industry.
The appointment as associate editor of the “Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology” recognizes Prof. Dr. Volcheck’s academic reputation in the field of digital transformation and tourism technology. Among her numerous responsibilities is the evaluation of manuscripts. The fact that fewer than 15 percent of submitted articles are accepted speaks to the highest standards of JHTT quality. It is no surprise that the journal’s CiteScore – the metric for citation frequency in academic journals – stands at a high 10.3.
“In the modern digital world, it is crucial to have quick and easy access to relevant knowledge and reliable recommendations.” This is what Prof. Dr. Volcheck says about what she ensures as part of the JHTT team. As associate editor, she also contributes to the journal’s direction. Within the academic community, the scholar serves as a JHTT ambassador.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Volcheck’s new, additional role at the “Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Technology” strengthens the position of both DIT and ECRI within the global research network as well as the Bavarian innovation ecosystem. And this in a field whose economic and social significance is growing.
