"I did not know how many mistakes I made in my projects"- says Zuzana Hugonin, a Slovak PhD student, working in the field of inorganic chemistry at Stockholm University, who attended the Trayss Prime science management week from May 5 to May 7, 2008, in Erkner, close to Berlin.
She continues: "Now I know that there is room for improvement. I will incorporate these new aspects into my scientific work. I am sure that a more clever preparation and organization of the upcoming tasks will give me more time and flexibility for the scientific work."
The workshop was the culmination of the EU-funded project TRAYSS PRIME and provided the participant's with useful management and leadership skills. The management week was attended by more than 60 international life science researchers from 13 European countries. Besides the main tracks on research project management, exploitation of research results and IP management as well as EU FP7 application management, the course offered additional seminars on time and conflict management. The study trip to a biotech production plant of Bayer Health Care and the visit to the German parliament Bundestag in Berlin were undoubtedly the highlights of the seminar week.
The participants had many opportunities to extend their professional network and to initiate possible future cooperations.
The seminar week was organized by ProSciencia Beratungs-GmbH Luebeck in cooperation with Steinbeis Team Northeast Rostock and the international biotech network ScanBalt, Copenhagen.
