As the leading school in Germany and one of the top 5 internationally, HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management continues to hone its profile as an entrepreneurial university. The "Invest in Growth" fundraiser officially launched last week is about the Center for Entrepreneurial and Innovative Management (CEIM), HHL's new platform for entrepreneurs and innovation. A one-stop agency, CEIM bundles and systemizes entrepreneurial support and innovation projects. CEIM offers targeted assistance to students interested in starting their own business, researchers and investors as well as entrepreneurs with the development of business plans and new business models at HHL and the new SpinLab – The HHL Accelerator. HHL launched the Accelerator with the Leipzig Spinnerei, an old cotton mill, to incubate and accelerate start-up and innovation concepts. CEIM offers advice and support for start-up projects through HHL professors and employees as well as successful founders and managers. Moreover, CEIM serves as a lab for scientific entrepreneurship and innovation research.
With "Invest in Growth", HHL launches a fundraiser to financially support the establishment of CEIM. CEIM requires more than just its own offices and equipment in the Academic House, which is currently being renovated by HHL, to successfully work with the start-up teams. It also needs several employees as well as solid infrastructure as its foundation. The fundraiser will continue until spring 2015 and includes, in addition to funding, the possibility of mentoring by founders, entrepreneurs and consultants passing on their knowledge to the start-up teams.
HHL Dean Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart says, "With the establishment of the Center for Entrepreneurial and Innovative Management, HHL expands its broad offer and its expertise in the field of innovation of business models. Our business school is constantly developing further and rethinking the topic of entrepreneurship and innovation in order to maintain our leading position in researching the fields of entrepreneurship and innovation management." Addressing the alumni, friends and supporters of HHL, Prof. Dr. Pinkwart says, "Your contributions will help us to implement yet another major component of the innovate125 HHL Future Concept and position HHL as one of the best entrepreneurial universities not only in Germany, but worldwide in sustainable manner."
Robin Buschmann, HHL alumnus and founder of GiroMatch GmbH, adds, "I think HHL is absolutely right to support entrepreneurship and to establish a holistic concept by joining researchers, founders and investors under one roof. When starting their own business, people often lack core competencies or the access to investors. This concept can create significant added value in this connection."
