European School of Management and Technology (ESMT)

    - Opinion leaders discuss chances and challenges of digitalization
    - Founder and Head of ShareTheMeal, Sebastian Stricker, to receive ESMT Responsible Leadership Award

For the ninth consecutive time, ESMT Berlin will hold the ESMT Annual Forum on June 9, 2016 in Berlin. The one-day conference is dedicated to “Digitalization. Responsible strategies for business and society.” “This year’s Annual Forum gives decision makers the opportunity to discuss the chances and risks of digitalization,” Jörg Rocholl, President of ESMT, commented. Top managers such as Dieter Zetsche (Chairman of the Board of Management, Daimler AG), Jamie Shea (Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges, NATO), and Melissa Hathaway (President, Hathaway Global Strategies) are among the speakers. The annual conference has established itself internationally as a platform of discussion for business leaders, policy makers, and academic experts. In keynotes and panel discussions, opinion leaders will address the challenges and opportunities of the digital revolution. “ESMT will continue to stimulate future debate and create a platform for international exchange,” Rocholl emphasizes.

This year, Sebastian Stricker and his team from ShareTheMeal will receive the ESMT Responsible Leadership Award for their achievements in famine relief. The award honors exceptional leaders who promote Corporate Social Responsibility. It pays recognition to the ShareTheMeal initiative, which was founded to serve as an inspiration to others and furthermore demonstrates a strong commitment to the principles of sustainability. Prior to founding the crowdfunding app ShareTheMeal, Stricker covered a number of different positions in the public and the private sector, based in Europe as well as Sub-Saharan Africa. His employers included the United Nations World Food Programme, the Clinton Foundation, and The Boston Consulting Group. Stricker is the seventh winner of the ESMT Responsible Leadership Award. Previous recipients include Mario Draghi, President of the European Central Bank; Wendy Kopp, Founder of Teach For America and CEO and Co-founder of Teach For All, and Güler Sabancı, Chairman and Managing Director of Sabancı Holding.
