For the first time, WHU participated in the Financial Times Masters in Finance 2020 Ranking and immediately took 22nd place worldwide as the best program in Germany.
Düsseldorf/Vallendar. The Financial Times rankings are among the most important international assessments used by Bachelor's graduates to select a Master's program at a business school. In the recently published Financial Times Masters in Finance Ranking 2020, the Master in Finance Program (MiF) of WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management achieved 22nd place worldwide and established itself as the best program in Germany. In an international comparison of business schools, WHU's MiF Program proves itself above all in the categories "Internationality of the program" (#9), "Salary" (#12), and "Career service" (#18). The surveyed alumni attested the program a general satisfaction of 9,35 out of 10.
"It is highly gratifying that the Master in Finance Program at WHU, as a newcomer in the FT ranking, was able to overtake its German competitors. Of course, we want to take this success as an incentive and continue to contribute to the satisfaction of our students and alumni," reports Professor Dr. Markus Rudolf, Dean of WHU. After all, the alumni, whose evaluation is included in the ranking, were more than satisfied. For WHU to participate in the ranking, at least 20 out of 37 alumni of the graduating class of 2017 had to participate in the data collection. "The fact that we are listed in the ranking shows that not only the quality of our teaching is convincing but also the values we convey. These are community and commitment," adds Rudolf.
The majority of MiF students come to WHU from abroad for the Master's program. There, they primarily expand their knowledge of the international financial markets to be able to make a successful career in the financial world later on. "The different levels of prior knowledge and the diversity of the students make the program a unique and international experience. In combination with an excellent education and career opportunities, this experience has a positive impact on the students' careers," says Professor Dr. Martin Jacob, Academic Director of the Master in Finance Program.
The FT Masters in Finance Ranking 2020 evaluated a total of 55 MiF programs worldwide. In addition to the aspects of internationality, salary, and career service, criteria such as career progress and diversity were also ranked. Besides the survey of graduates, the evaluation also includes information from the universities. Together with the FT MiF ranking, WHU is the No. 1 in Germany in all degree programs.
