Secure your study place! Admission days at Jacobs University also online for the first time

Melisa Berktas Corporate Communications & Public Relations
Jacobs University Bremen gGmbH

The procedure is straightforward, personal and fast: On the admission days, applicants can secure themselves a study place at the distinguished Jacobs University within just one day – and possibly even a scholarship. This year, for the first time, the selection process will be carried out either on campus in Bremen or online. There are several dates to choose from between July 4 and August 1. Since the number of participants is limited, a timely registration is recommended.

During a campus tour, the applicants get to know Jacobs University better. Students answer questions about their studies and share their first-hand experiences about life at the international university, where students from more than 120 countries are active in about 50 student clubs. The selection process is based on a 30-minute interview, conducted in English, on personal motivation and qualifications. A decision on admission and on a possible merit-based scholarship is made on the very same day. Parents are also cordially invited to the admission days.

Applications are accepted for the academic preparation year – the “Foundation Year” – as well as for all Bachelor’s and Master’s programs. The proof of a diploma equivalent to the German general higher education entry qualification is necessary, especially for international applicants. Those interested in a Master's program should estimatedly complete their Bachelor's degree by September 2020 and be able to present an overview of their performance and grades. Documents, such as letters of motivation or recommendation as well as language tests are not necessary, due to the simplified procedure and the individual interviews.

The admission days also provide the opportunity for individual financial advice from the Student Financial Service Team of Jacobs University.
