“Nature”-Conference “AI, Neuroscience and Hardware” focuses on exchange between biology and IT technology
Bonn - Experts from Germany and abroad are invited to Bonn from September 7 to 8, 2022, to discuss current developments at the interface between Artificial Intelligence (AI), brain research, and neuroscience. The conference is hosted by DZNE and presented jointly with the scientific journals Nature Electronics, Nature Machine Intelligence and Nature Communications.
“There has always been a close relationship between neuroscience and research on artificial intelligence,” says Prof. Joachim Schultze, Director of Systems Medicine at DZNE. “On the one hand, cutting-edge AI is building on the principles of brain processes, mainly neural networks. On the other hand, AI-based algorithms are being applied to evaluate data generated in brain research, neuroscience and, in particular, research into neurodegenerative diseases. This interaction between biology and the digital realm is also influencing developments in computer hardware.”
In view of this, the conference will cover various topics ranging from modeling the brain to trends in “deep learning” and “supercomputing”. Plenary lectures will be given by renowned experts from Europe and overseas – from academic research and industry: https://conferences.nature.com/event/b484d933-83c0-4c87-86e0-587d9069a56d/websit...
This meeting will be an in-person event, professionals from all involved disciplines can register online via: https://conferences.nature.com/event/b484d933-83c0-4c87-86e0-587d9069a56d/regPro...
The deadline for submitting abstracts for poster presentations is July 23: https://conferences.nature.com/event/b484d933-83c0-4c87-86e0-587d9069a56d/websit...

About the Deutsches Zentrum für Neurodegenerative Erkrankungen, DZNE
(German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases)
The DZNE is a research institute funded by the German federal and state governments, comprising ten sites across Germany. It is dedicated to diseases of the brain and nervous system, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and ALS, which are associated with dementia, movement disorders and other serious health impairments. To date, there are no cures for these diseases, which represent an enormous burden for countless affected individuals, their families, and the healthcare system. The aim of DZNE is to develop novel strategies for prevention, diagnosis, care, as well as treatment, and to transfer them into practice. To this end, DZNE cooperates with universities, university hospitals, research centers and other institutions in Germany and abroad. The institute is a member of the Helmholtz Association and belongs to the German Centers for Health Research. https://www.dzne.de/en
