From 22 to 24 October 2022, the world's largest interdisciplinary congress on Hodgkin's Lymphoma will take place in the Gürzenich in Cologne. Around 600 experts from medicine and science will discuss the latest findings and current developments in research and care. The focus this year is on the treatment of older and frail patients with Hodgkin Lymphoma. The Keynote Lecture will be held by Prof. Dr. Ugur Sahin (BioNTech SE) on 22 October.
The symposium is held every two years by the German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG). It is based at the University Hospital of Cologne and is the world's largest Hodgkin Lymphoma study group with over 20,000 patients treated in studies.

"This year I am particularly looking forward to the exchange with international colleagues, which is finally possible in person again. In addition, former patients as well as specialised nurses have supported us in the programme planning this time to create more room for these important perspectives," says PD Paul J. Bröckelmann, MD, one of the symposium secretaries of ISHL12 and study physician at the GHSG.
Dr. Sven Borchmann emphasises: "It is a special honour for us that Prof. Dr. Ugur Sahin has agreed to give the Keynote Lecture at the Opening Ceremony".
Traditionally, the ISHL is attended by an interdisciplinary audience of physicians and scientists from the fields of haematology/oncology, molecular biology, immunology, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine and paediatric haematology/oncology from all over the world. Interactive workshops, seminars, interdisciplinary case discussions, scientific lectures and poster presentations as well as satellite symposia cover a wide range of topics.
The promotion of young scientists and doctors is a particular concern of the organisers. Thus, during the opening ceremony of the congress on 22 October 2022, the best scientific papers will be awarded the Karl Musshoff Prize, among others.
