774 speakers in 134 sessions contributed to the diverse programme of the 2025 edition of the Falling Walls Science Summit.

The next Falling Walls Science Summit is set to take place from 7–9 November 2026.
Berlin, Germany, 25 November 2025. The Falling Walls Science Summit 2025, held from 6 to 9 November, welcomed over 2,200 in-person guests from 88 countries and 8,183 livestream viewers, making this the best-attended edition of the Science Summit since its inception in 2009. Furthermore, 774 speakers in 134 sessions contributed to the diverse programme of the Falling Walls Science Summit, enabling in-depth discussion on a wide range of topics. These included science diplomacy, novel cancer therapies, the future of European deep tech, the relevance of AI for industries, advancements in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, dual-use research, and many others.
One overarching topic were the challenges international science cooperation is facing today. “Research has the power to unite from a common mindset to a joint mission. Research builds bridges even across the deepest divides”, said Dorothee Bär, Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, in her opening keynote, underpinning the Science Summit’s commitment to creating a space for open exchange between all sectors and all scientific disciplines.
Attendees from 88 countries enabled interdisciplinary and intersectoral discussions
“The number of attendees, speakers, debates and represented countries shows that the Falling Walls Science Summit is an important forum for decision-makers from research, politics, industry, academia and civil society to discuss the challenges science faces globally,” says Dr. Andreas Kosmider, CEO of the Falling Walls Foundation. “Our sincere gratitude goes to all the partners who contributed to creating this space for debate and exchange, to our speakers, and our guests who came to Berlin from 88 countries.”
The Falling Walls Science Summit 2025 presented numerous programme highlights. Among them were the Gipfel für Forschung und Innovation (Summit for Research and Innovation) by Stifterverband, Volkswagen Foundation, EFI and Leopoldina, and Boston Consulting Group’s Climate and Sustainability Summit. Further highlights include the on-stage interview with German astronaut Matthias Maurer, the Breakthrough Talk with 2023 Nobel Prize winner Katalin Karikó, and the Global Connections stage opened by a panel discussion between the Ambassadors of the Czech Republic, Israel and the United Arab Emirates and former reserach minister of Germany, Edelgard Bulmahn.
