The Center for Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies “Denkraum Ukraine” (“Think Space Ukraine”) is pleased to announce a call for applications for its 2026 Think Space Ukraine Media Fellowships. The Center offers honorariums lasting one or two weeks for media professionals such as journalists, video makers, photographers, and writers who focus on topics related to Ukraine.
The Center for Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies “Denkraum Ukraine” (“Think Space Ukraine”) is pleased to announce a call for applications for its 2026 Think Space Ukraine Media Fellowships. We offer honorariums lasting one or two weeks, funded at 1,400 € per week (7 days), for media professionals such as journalists, video makers, photographers, and writers who focus on topics related to Ukraine.
During their stay, the selected participants are expected to engage with the research staff at the University of Regensburg and research institutions in Regensburg, use the library and archival resources in Regensburg, or hold their own book presentations, film screenings, exhibitions.
How to apply?
Please submit your application in one PDF file by email to sekretariat.du@ur.de, stating the fellowship in the subject line: “Application for Think Space Ukraine Media Fellowship 2026”. The PDF file should include:
• A brief description of your media project related to Ukraine in English or German (maximum three pages), including a clear explanation of how you intend to use your time in Regensburg for the project
• A detailed Curriculum Vitae
• A list of articles, books, films, or interviews you have created, with the most important ones highlighted
• A statement regarding your preferred date of stay (between May and November 2026). The deadline for applications is 15 March 2026.
Please note that applications containing more than one file or that are submitted after the deadline cannot be considered.

More information about the Center “Think Space Ukraine”
The Center for Interdisciplinary Ukrainian Studies “Denkraum Ukraine” (“Think Space Ukraine”) at the University of Regensburg is financed by the DAAD through funds from the German Federal Foreign Office (AA) from 2024 to 2028. It brings together expertise in Ukrainian history, culture, politics, law, and economics.
The Center aims to establish an internationally visible hub for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary research and education on Ukraine. The work of “Denkraum Ukraine” is organized around four research areas: language and cultural heritage, war and peace, migration, and regional diversity. Through events and collaborations with partners in Ukraine, Germany, and other countries, “Denkraum Ukraine” fosters academic exchange and creates a platform for cross-disciplinary dialogue.
