The MBA programme at Berlin Professional School, part of the Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin, has once again been awarded the prestigious international quality seal of the Association of MBAs, confirming its status as a first-class programme.

Berlin, 18 February 2026 - The Berlin MBA at Berlin Professional School (BPS), a division of Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin / the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin), has successfully been re-accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA). The award reaffirms the programme’s position among leading internationally recognised providers of postgraduate management education for professionals and executives and underlines its commitment to combining academic excellence with strong practical relevance and direct professional application.

HWR Berlin is one of Germany’s distinguished universities for management education and executive development. Located in Berlin – a major centre for business, start-ups, and public administration as well as an international education hub – Berlin Professional School operates in a particularly dynamic environment for executive education.

International Recognition for the Management Programme

Andrew Main Wilson, Chief Executive of the Association of MBAs and the Business Graduates Association (BGA) said: "I am delighted to congratulate Berlin Professional School at the Berlin School of Economics and Law on delivering an MBA experience of truly exceptional quality. The school’s highly collegiate leadership, excellent programme delivery, impressive integration of theory and applied business practice, and strong learning environment all reflect a deep commitment to maintaining the highest global standards in management education."

The AMBA accreditation is internationally regarded as one of the most important quality benchmarks in postgraduate management education and is awarded only to programmes that meet rigorous criteria in teaching, curriculum design and student support. Following the successful review, the Berlin MBA may carry the AMBA quality seal for a further five years.

Review Confirms Academic Quality and Student Support

“The re-accreditation of the Berlin MBA represents far more than a quality label for us. It confirms the reliability of our high academic standards. We are extremely pleased with this success, as it demonstrates our ability to combine academic excellence with practical relevance,” says Prof. Dr. John Siegel, Director of Berlin Professional School.

In their report, the independent reviewers particularly highlight the professional programme management, coherent curricula and a structured, individualised feedback system supporting competency development and personal growth.

“The international review panel also recognises the strong integration of our professional network into teaching and the intensive personal support provided to our students. The open and collaborative team culture and the exceptional commitment of everyone involved contribute significantly to participant success,” Siegel adds.

    Berlin MBA: Flexible, International, Career-Oriented

The English-taught Berlin MBA is designed for experienced graduates and professionals seeking leadership roles or a new professional direction. It provides broad-based, practice-oriented management competencies.

The programme can be completed full-time or part-time and offers specialisations ranging from Entrepreneurship and Sustainability to Digital Business, allowing participants to tailor their individual focus areas. A dedicated Career and Alumni Service supports strategic career planning and provides access to the international BPS community. Through AMBA membership, alumni are additionally connected with more than 80,000 professionals and executives worldwide.

Profile of the Berlin Professional School

Berlin Professional School (BPS) combines HWR Berlin’s MBA and other executive master’s programmes as well as certificate programmes, with academic degrees awarded by HWR Berlin. The management programmes address both the private sector and public administration.

Small study groups, individual support and close collaboration with companies and public institutions create a practice-oriented learning environment that fosters leadership skills and entrepreneurial thinking. Around 650 participants from Germany and abroad are currently enrolled at BPS. For more than 30 years, the school has offered high-quality part-time and full-time programmes for professionals and executives with a strong emphasis on quality and practical transfer.

Continuing Education as a Strategic Pillar of HWR Berlin

Prof. Dr. Jens Hermsdorf, President of HWR Berlin, states:
“The successful re-accreditation of the Berlin MBA is a milestone and a clear confirmation of years of consistent quality development at Berlin Professional School. It underlines the strategic importance of academic continuing education at HWR Berlin and sends a strong signal to the international executive education market. At the same time, it strengthens the overall profile of our university as a practice-oriented and internationally focused institution with the highest standards in teaching and academic excellence.”

On March 24, prospective participants can learn more about the Berlin MBA during the virtual information session “Behind the Scenes: Berlin MBA”.
