Der Oktokopter fliegt eine vorgegebene Route anhand von Wegpunktmarkierungen automatisch ab. Die auf ihm montierte autarke Messsonde verfügt über drei orthogonal angeordnete Antennen und einen eigenen GPS-Empfänger. Der integrierte Mikroprozessor verarbeitet den Datenstrom des dreikanaligen HF-Empfängers sowie die GPS-Position und speichert diese Informationen zeitsynchron − und mit Zeitstempel versehen − ab. Die Messdaten lassen sich später zu einem beliebigen Zeitpunkt auswerten.
