Double victory in Beijing: B-Human wins two titles at the World Humanoid Robot Games

    B-Human has won two Humanoid Soccer League competitions at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing. The joint team of the University of Bremen and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) prevailed against international and Chinese teams in both the RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Beijing Masters and the Humanoid Soccer competition of the World Humanoid Robot Games.

    The 2nd RoboCup Asia-Pacific (RCAP) Beijing Masters were held in Beijing from August 22 to 26, 2026, as part of the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games (WHRG). The Humanoid Soccer League featured two separate competitions, the RCAP competition and the WHRG competition, which were played under slightly different rules and conditions. B-Human competed in both and emerged as the winner of each.

    A standout feature was the size of the playing fields. Measuring 22 by 14 meters, they were significantly larger than those used at previous RoboCup tournaments. The additional space was particularly well suited to the speed of the humanoid robots, allowing for a more dynamic and fast-paced style of play.

    Match duration varied between the two competitions: RCAP matches consisted of two 10-minute halves, while WHRG matches were played over two 15-minute halves.

    B-Human wins the RCAP Beijing Masters

    In the RCAP competition, B-Human faced whIRLwind Amsterdam (Netherlands), Inha-United (South Korea), and Starkit (Russia) in the group stage. With three wins and a total of 40 goals scored, the team comfortably advanced to the semifinals.

    There, B-Human defeated the Badger Bots from the USA 15–0. The final brought another familiar matchup against the HTWK Robots from Leipzig, who have faced B-Human in several finals at international RoboCup tournaments. B-Human once again came out on top, securing the title with a 9–0 victory.

    Second title at the World Humanoid Robot Games

    B-Human continued its successful run in the second competition, which was played in a knockout format. In the round of 16, the eight international teams each faced a Chinese opponent. B-Human defeated CAU Mountain&Sea from China 21–1, followed by another convincing 21–1 victory over Aurora from China in the quarterfinals.

    In the semifinals, B-Human beat HyperYe from China 24–0. The final brought another encounter with the HTWK Robots from Leipzig. B-Human prevailed 13–3, completing its double triumph in Beijing and claiming the title in the World Humanoid Robot Games competition.

    Successful season continues

    With its two titles in Beijing, B-Human continues its successful season in the newly established Humanoid Soccer League. The team from Bremen had already taken first place at the RoboCup German Open in March and at the RoboCup World Championship in South Korea in July.
